Living Wills

What is a Living Will?

A Florida Living Will is also known as a Health Care Directive or an Advance Directive. The Living Will is a legal estate planning document that allows you to clearly state your intentions for end-of-life medical care in the event you were to become incapacitated. A Living Will has no effect after your death, rather takes effect in the event you are unable to verbalize healthcare decisions.

Could You Benefit from Having a Living Will?

As many as two-thirds of all Americans have not taken steps to protect themselves with a Living Will, however, it is an important part of your estate plan. Your Living Will provides direction to your loved ones regarding your wishes about life-prolonging procedures, treatments for terminal illnesses, end-stage conditions, or persistent vegetative conditions, and can help avoid disputes among family members.
